About
From Rural Farm Community and the Military to Hospitality
Dave, his wife Suman and their youngest children live in Fairfax County just outside the City of Falls Church.
He got his first job at the age of 13 working at a quarter horse stable on weekends after finishing his chores on the family tobacco farm. Upon finishing High School, he joined the Army as a Paratrooper serving combat tours in both Central America and the Middle East.
After the service while attending community college he began working as a bartender in a Holiday Inn. It was here that he found his true passion in life and never looked back – Hospitality where he could enjoy serving and meeting new people every day.
Between his work ethic and his passion for service within a couple years while still in his twenties he was managing his first full service hundred plus room hotel. Today as a Regional Manager he handles a portfolio of multiple hotel brands stretching from Maryland to Florida.
Moving to Falls Church
Dave first arrived in Falls Church area in the mid 90’s accepting an offer to work at what was then the Best Western, Quality Inn, and Bentley’s on Arlington Blvd. and immediately fell in love with the community. So much so that he has remained here ever since, in fact his current office is still in those same buildings as a quarter century ago.
Community Involvement
Dave has always believed in giving back to the community and service to others before self. He has always had a key focus on mentoring our youth, honoring our seniors and veterans, and working with the local business community. Over the last two decades he has served in multiple organizations in our community.
He has been a passionate supporter of the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce and served on its board on multiple occasions and currently is serving as Chair. For his work with the Chamber he received the James S. Elkin Award for Humanitarianism in 2017.
For years Dave coached for the local little league where he managed their tee ball level & clinics, received multiple coach of the year awards, and currently coaches’ his daughter’s youth softball team. In addition to his work for our youth in sports he is also the Chaplain of the Falls Church VFW and works with our local school districts to coordinate the post's youth activities, student scholarships, and educator of the year awards.
He has been committed to serving fellow veterans not only through the VFW, but also as a member of the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council and a member of the American Legion.
